Casino Night March 5, 2011 Casino Night Thank you, parishioners of Risen Christ for your participation in Casino Night. As a social event we got a high rating. In fact, people were disappointed when it was announced that we were going to stop gambling to draw for the small prize raffle. More raffle tickets for the big prize raffle were sold than ever before. The tumbler was so full with ticket canisters that it had to be mixed by hand. Winners of the big prizes were as follows: Fifth prize -$50 went to Michelle Davis; Fourth prize $100 Curt Sutherland; Third prize-Kindle, Val Pabalis; Second prize-Xbox with Kinect, Sondra Becker; First prize-Apple Ipad, Cathy Yoder. Less desirable prizes went to the following folks: Tom Kennedy walked out early and was awarded the “Party Pooper” trophy. Frank Archer lost repeatedly at Blackjack and Roulette and won the dubious title of “Biggest Loser.” Mark Henry was MC and entertained us all with his usual wit and kept us thinking with “Catholic Jeopardy” questions. As a fundraiser Casino Night netted about $6500. This was up from last year, but not as good as our best year. Many people contributed to make Casino Night a success and their names are found below.
